Purpose Jewelry: Driving Out Darkness

Purpose Jewelry: Driving Out Darkness

There has always been hatred, fear and pain in our world and there always will be. As a society, and as individuals, we are measured by our response. Do we allow ourselves to become paralyzed by despair, or do we let suffering produce perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope? This morning I was encouraged by this quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr:

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

Today and everyday I choose to love, and to celebrate the light that is driving out darkness. With that in mind, I’m so excited to share the mission of Purpose Jewelry with you.

Purpose Jewelry was started by the non-profit International Sanctuary, an organization that provides holistic care, education and employment to sex trafficking survivors in Mumbai, India. All the jewelry sold by Purpose Jewelry is handcrafted by survivors, and each piece comes with a tag signed by the brave woman who created it. 100% of their profits go back to fund the non-profit, and on top of that, you won’t find anything over $40 in any of their collections, making them the most affordable, ethical jewelry company out there. Insert the two hands raised up in celebration emoji!

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s yet another reason to purchase with Purpose — all of their jewelry is prepared, packaged and shipped by survivors of sex trafficking rescued in Orange County, CA. Now, every time I wear my favorite necklace, I remember the women who were given freedom and a second chance here in my own backyard, as well as in India.

That was a lot of facts, so now for the fashion. Their latest Signature Collection is comprised of dainty, wearable pieces that allow you to proudly display the Purpose Jewelry logo — a representation of freedom. Each item comes in either brass or silver, so choose the metal that fits best with your everyday look.

Make sure to check out their Winter collection as well. The Willow necklace‘s chain tassel adds a unique bohemian edge to my basics, making it office AND Black Rebel Motorcycle Club concert appropriate. If you’re a fan of the boho look but looking for something more feminine, the blush and gold version may be more fitting for your style.

Whenever I share a new for good company with you, I try to provide a coupon code to use. I hope this plays a small part in making ethical shopping the new normal. This time around, if you’re a new Purpose Jewelry customer you can click here and follow the link to take 20% off your first order.

Happy shopping for good and for purpose!
